Event Notice: Copperfield
Funday
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The newly-formed Friends of Copperfield Park group will be
holding a Funday on Saturday, 26th September, from 2-4pm. It
will be held at the park on Copperfield Road- at the junction with
Breton Road- Rochester East ward, and can be reached by the
footpath next to the Tideway.
The theme of the event, which is free, is ‘Love your Local
Park’. There will be a range of activities for all ages,
including kite-making, plant stalls, children’s games and
face-painting. The local scouts are providing
refreshments.
Cllr Teresa Murray, local ward member, said,
“We’re really looking forward to this, and hope it will be as
successful as the previous events at the park. After losing
the wildlife area to development, we want to celebrate getting the
funding to improve the play area at Copperfield, and let new
residents know about the park on their doorstep.”
“We’ve got several of the greenspaces groups coming along, as well
as the RSPB. This should be a great day out for families, and
residents can see what the park has to offer, as well as enjoying
all the events and learning more about our local countryside and
wildlife.”
