The Medway Labour and Co-operative Group are today sending their thanks and appreciation to postal workers on National Postal Workers Day.

Cllr Vince Maple, Leader of the Medway Labour and Co-operative Group said:

“During the pandemic, postal workers have been some of the key workers who come rain or shine have had to continue going outside every working day in order to serve their communities. They did so to provide a vital service and to help to keep us connected with the outside world during the lockdowns. Because of these circumstances, this year more than ever it is necessary for us to thank postal workers for their hard work and diligence.”

Cllr Dan McDonald, member for Gillingham South said:

“During the 2020 Christmas quarter of the year, postal workers delivered an unprecedented number of parcels. Many of these items were presents and cards without which the joys of Christmas wouldn’t have been the same.

“As a member of the Communication Workers Union, I’m glad to see the thanks being expressed towards postal workers today as we once again head into the busy Christmas weeks.”
