A group of young Labour Party members launched a new local wing of the Labour Party, Medway Young Labour, at their first Annual General Meeting earlier this week.
Harriet Sharp, Chair of Medway Young Labour said, ‘I’m really excited to have been elected as Chair of Medway Young Labour; it’s great to be involved with something I’m so passionate about, and I want to help others get involved too.
‘I’m committed to making change for the better and encourage other young people to come along and find out more – things affect you whether or not you get involved, so it’s always better to take a stand for what you believe in.’
Cllr Vince Maple, Medway Labour & Co-operative Group Leader said, ‘It’s incredible to see the hard work and commitment that has gone into setting up Medway Young Labour, as well as the enthusiasm of everyone that attended the launch.
‘It’s clear that the future of the Labour Party is in safe hands as these young people fight tirelessly for a society that works for the many, not the few.’
