The following is a statement issued by Cllr John Lloyd (Twydall) announcing his intention to stand down at the next election:

I am stepping down as Twydall ward councilor at the Medway Council 2023 election, as I would be eighty at the end of the term in 2027, if I live that long. It has been an enormous honor to have been elected to serve Twydall ward.

I will still be campaigning for worthwhile work, good standard of pay, affordable homes, and for the NHS and education system to be well-funded.
