All sorts of people can be on-call firefighters.  If you want to be part of a great team, making a real difference to your local community then Kent Fire and Rescue Service wants to hear from you.

On-call firefighters are men and women who often have other jobs and are able to provide evening, daytime or weekend “on-call” cover.  They are paid to be on-call for an agreed number of hours and during that time they go about their normal life at home or work.

But should a fire, road traffic collision or other emergency occur they can be called via a pager and need to get to the local fire station within five minutes to crew the engine.

So if you are physically fit, live or work within five minutes of an on-call fire station, and are least 18 years old (there is not an upper age limit), why not check the Kent Fire and Rescue Service website for more details www.kent.fire-uk.org/oncall
