Medway Labour and Co-Op backing England to win
Medway Labour and Co-Op group are backing England to win in the first men’s tournament final in more than half a century.
Vince Maple, Medway Labour & Co-op Leader said:
“A huge congratulations to the whole England team for reaching the Euro 2020 final – the first final they have reached in my lifetime. No doubt all of Medway will be wishing the team success. One of the sad realities of football tournaments is the increase in domestic abuse – as a White Ribbon Ambassador it is critical that we do everything we can to reduce domestic abuse. I would urge any Medway resident concerned to go to www.choicesdaservice.org.uk/mdas to get more help and support.”
Teresa Murray, Medway Labour & Co-op Deputy Leader added:
“Gareth Southgate and the whole England team have played brilliantly – I hope they manage to go that final step on Sunday. Of course, Covid 19 continues to impact our community so I would urge everyone to make sure they do a symptom free test prior to enjoying the game on Sunday. It’s also important whatever the result that moving forward we improve community football facilities in Medway to ensure that all those who want to enjoy playing football, which helps with both physical and mental health, can do so.”
