This Tuesday newly elected Labour and Cooperative Group Councillor Zoe Van Dyke attended the unveiling of a mural for Strood Station.

The bright-coloured mural, painted by Kent street artist Graham Upton, had been inspired by the ideas of students from Strood Academy who were involved in the process after being contacted by the Kent Community Rail Partnership.

Cllr Zoe Van Dyke, representative for Stood North, commented on the artwork saying:

“The quality of the work not only perfectly captures the scenery of our town, but is also testament to the creativity and talent of the local students who played a part in helping to design it”

“Its location at the station also ensures it will certainly leave a positive first impression on any new visitors to our area”
