The Medway Labour and Co-operative Group have launched a petition calling for the Post Office to remain on Rochester High Street. This follows the news that its current location will no longer be in use by the end of this year. The petition has already received hundreds of signatures.

Cllr Teresa Murray, Medway Labour and Co-operative Group Member for Rochester East : “Our petition has been extremely well received by the public in Rochester. We would encourage all those who want to put pressure on the Council to protect this vital community asset being in a convenient location to do so by signing our petition.”

Cllr Alex Paterson, Medway Labour and Co-operative Group Member for Rochester West: “Action must be taken to keep the Post Office near its current location. It serves as a valuable resource and brings benefits to residents, businesses and visitors in Rochester. I’ll be asking a question at this week’s Full Council meeting to encourage the Council to work with all Rochester councillors to find an appropriate solution.”
