A-level pupils across Medway are receiving their exam results today.

Cllr Clive Johnson, Medway Labour & Co-operative Spokesperson for Children and Young People said, ‘Today’s results are a testament to the hard work and dedication pupils, teachers, and schools have shown over the last two years.

‘I also want to congratulate pupils who are celebrating the results of vocational and technological courses released earlier this week.

‘I pay tribute to the staff and pupils who have accomplished so much in spite the fact that, since 2010, sixth form colleges have seen a 21% funding cut and overall school funding has decreased by 8% in real terms.

‘These cuts to school funding are unsustainable and I call on the new prime minister to invest in the education of all of our young people.’
